Web UI application developer

We, Paylike, a Danish payments company, are looking for help in building our web UIs for customers and employess to use.

The work is about creating UI components from web technologies (HTML, CSS and JavaScript), writing state management, dealing with asynchronous events, caching, synchronization, and preventing race conditions.

There is no design work, but we write both HTML and CSS because developers know better than a designer how to write semantic markup and structure a stylesheet.

We try to pick the right tool for the job, but still have some preferences based on what has worked well in the past. Here are some of them:

  • Single page web apps
  • API-only backends (HTTP)
  • Small toolchain approach (no Gulp, Grunt, etc.)
  • Libraries over frameworks
  • Functional over classes and side-effects
  • Small, single purpose, reusable codebases
  • Contribute back to Open source upstreams

The job is remote, part or full time, and we generally support you in whatever lifestyle you may practice. We have informal work aways in major European cities every two-four months. Participation is voluntary, any drop-in is cool, and we sponsor your transport. Our Aarhus, Denmark office is also open at all times.

Send your application here and we’ll get right back to you.
